January 3, 2012. The 2012 property tax assessments are in the mail and now available online. They are used to determine property and business taxes, and are based on the property market values of July 1, 2011.
The city says this year, 62 per cent of residential properties will see a decrease from last year and 38 per cent will see an increase. the biggest increase will be found in the mobile home market and the assessment of trailers that have increased to $42,000 from $27,000 last year.
